In this in-depth and revealing interview, musician Ty Herndon sat down with The Actor’s Audience (www.theactorsaudience.com) to chat about his decades long career as a recording artist. Ty has released 14 albums, which have charted 20 Billboard singles. In 2014 Ty came out publicly as a gay man and soon after hosted The Concert for Love and Acceptance, which was the first ever country music event designed to bring attention to and support for at-risk youths & acceptance. His last two albums, What Matters Most (which was just released) and House On Fire, have been about his own journey as a gay man. Herndon was honored with the HRVC Visibility Award in 2018 and continues to use his platform to to partner with GLAAD, who announced they were awarding a grant named after Ty, to someone who is committed to enhancing LGBTQ+ inclusion and representation in music. The recipient of the Ty Herndon Rising Stars Grant receives $2,500 to put towards their work.
